There is nothing worse than having to access a septic tank in the middle of the winter when the ground is frozen. This system solves that problem and it looks good. This riser system is rugged and easy to construct and install. I would recommend getting larger diameter concrete screws with a hex head instead of the Philips head screws that come with the unit. Even when predrilling I snapped off 4 screws. So finally I decided to go with a heavier duty screw. This solved the problem. I did notice when I was placing the column/riser onto the base that it would not seat tightly against the tape and bottom. This was due to 4 plastic nubs that were on the side of the base column which probably were left over from the mold machine. I zipped tooled these off and then it fit snugly to the base. I love this product due to its simplicity and functionality. It really solves so many issues with septic tank access.

The included tap-con screws were fine, they are only meant to hold the riser in place until you back-fill the riser. The tape seals the unit from sewer gas escaping. Once the tank was exposed and cleaned off, took 40 minutes to properly install the riser and new cover. A “no brainer” Unless you prefer to “dig” in lieu of a more sensible weight loss program, get this product.
